Additional data for treatment planning

Digital images help the doctor evaluate the anatomical features of teeth, jaws, and surrounding tissues.

  • Initial oral cavity examination by a dentist
  • Cone-beam computed tomography (3D CBCT) as indicated
  • Detection of hidden carious cavities under fillings
  • Assessment of jaw bone height and density
  • Consultation with specialized experts (implantologist, prosthodontist)
  • Preparation of a preliminary plan and treatment estimate

    Treatment plan

Obtaining a preliminary plan and cost estimate; final prescriptions are confirmed by the doctor after an in-person examination.

Why 3D computed tomography is needed in modern dentistry

A thorough preliminary assessment helps the dentist plan treatment. When a two-dimensional X-ray does not provide enough information, computed tomography (CT) can produce a 3D image of the jaw and provide a more accurate view of the anatomy before root canal treatment, prosthodontic treatment, or implant placement.

What problems does a 3D CT scan reveal?

As prescribed by the doctor, 3D diagnostics helps evaluate:

  • Hidden caries: Carious cavities on contact surfaces of teeth (between teeth) and under old fillings or crowns.
  • Root inflammation: Cysts, granulomas, and chronic foci of infection in the bone tissue that are asymptomatic.
  • Bone atrophy: Assessment of bone height, thickness, and density prior to implantation, determining the position of the maxillary sinuses.
  • Root canal issues: Determining the exact number, shape, and patency of the root canals.

Remote treatment cost estimation

If a CT scan has already been prescribed and performed in Russia, upload the DICOM files to Yandex Disk or Google Drive and send us the link. The dentists will review the scan and prepare a preliminary plan and cost estimate. Final treatment recommendations and costs are confirmed after an in-person examination.

Answers before the trip

Questions about diagnostics

Why is computed tomography (CT) needed if there are X-rays?

CT provides a three-dimensional image and may be required when two-dimensional X-ray data is insufficient for the doctor — for instance, before implantation or to assess complex anatomy. The examination is ordered according to indications, rather than replacing conventional X-rays in all cases.

Is digital 3D diagnostics safe?

CT involves X-ray radiation, so the doctor orders it only as indicated and selects the appropriate scanning area. Before the scan, inform the doctor about pregnancy or other circumstances that might influence the decision.

Is it possible to get a preliminary cost estimate remotely from a CT scan?

Yes. You get a CT scan in your hometown, upload the files to a cloud drive, and send the link to the coordinator. The preliminary review conditions will be communicated before transferring the materials to the doctor; the final plan is confirmed after an in-person examination.

How long does diagnostics and getting results take?

The scanning itself usually takes less than a minute. The time required for image analysis and preparation of a preliminary plan depends on the scope of the study and case complexity; the coordinator will provide an estimated time during booking.

How much does a CT scan cost at your clinic?

The cost of CT scan is from 1 000 ₽. The possibility of diagnostic compensation depends on the volume of subsequent treatment; exact terms are confirmed by the coordinator before the visit.

Is it possible to have a dental CT scan with metal crowns or braces?

Metal crowns, braces, and implants usually do not rule out CT scanning, but they can create image artifacts. Be sure to inform the doctor about the structures so they can choose the appropriate study protocol.

How to save and send a CT scan taken in Russia?

At the clinic, your X-ray will be saved to a CD or USB flash drive (a folder containing DICOM files). To send it, copy all files from the disk, pack them into a ZIP archive, upload them to Yandex.Disk or Google Drive, and send the link to our coordinator.

Can a CT scan be performed with a pacemaker?

Dental CT uses X-rays and does not generate a magnetic field. However, please inform the doctor in advance about a pacemaker or other implanted devices so they can account for this medical information before the examination.
